Once in a Lifetime...
Mount Etna erupting tonight.
My friend K called me around 8, as I was putting Carlee to bed, and told me I should have a look at the volcano. At first, I was skeptical, usually if it erupts, you can't see it very well over here on our side. Well, I went out and I could see it just fine. It was so awesome. I tried to take a few pics, but they came out small anyway. I called my friend Angela, to let her know, and she and her husband walked up to my house right away. We talked about how awesome it would be to go for a drive to get closer. They asked me if I wanted to go... I thought about it, saying no at first because Carlee was already tired, and it was past her bedtime. "It's a once in a lifetime chance!" Angie told me. That settled it. I ran inside to grab the camera bag, carlee's bag, made a quick sippy for her, and we were off. Angie's hubby drove us to a country type road, and the picture shows our view. This was the very last picture that I took, and my favorite. Thanks Angie for letting me borrow your tripod! :D I can't even imagine what it looks like closer to the volcano. It was already breathtaking from that far out. This really was a once in a lifetime moment, it was awesome!
