Carlee wanted to go outside and play, but with her cold I told her no.

Getting back was supposed to be easy...
We're still in the states. Thank goodness my grandparents live close enough to Norfolk, because if I didn't have a place to stay, I think I would have had a nervous breakdown by now. And to top it off, Carlee and I have been sick for the past few days. I'm getting over it, but today is her worst day yet, and now we've given it to Grandma. :( Anyway, to catch up on my trip:

After spending time with my grandparents, I flew to Florida for a weekend to catch up with my friends. It was a blast seeing everyone again. We cached, had dinner with everyone, and cached some more. hehe. Carlee was really good, and I'm still so grateful for everything that my friends did for me.

Those few days flew by and then Carlee and I took 2 more plane rides to get to Dallas where my mom and her husband picked us up. The first week Carlee and I spent sick. She started showing signs of the cold on the last plane ride. That was fun with no kleenex lol. The second week we drove to my sister's home in West Texas to pick up my bride's maid's dress. Took it home to get fitted. The story behind that is a little funny... although it wasn't to us at the time. When I first took my measurements while I was still in Italy, I took them wrong. The saleslady told my sister that the measurements said I was a size 12. My sister insisted that I wasn't. The lady said that the dresses run small, so my sister ended up ordering an 8. Well, the company sent a 10. So, needless to say my sister was a little panicky. But after getting it altered, it fit okay.

Anyway, so the end of that week was my sister's wedding. It went really well. I was so impressed with my sister. She planned and took care of everything concerning the wedding while going to school beyond full time, and working full time too. I have no idea how she did it. I know I wouldn't have been able to.

Her dress was gorgeous. I really liked it. The ceremony was very nice. Everything went smoothly. No one passed out, no babies acted up (I was really worried about Carlee doing this, since I wouldn't be sitting with her), she and her husband were gorgeous standing up there together. I cried, of course. lol... They looked so incredibly happy. I'm so excited for them. The reception was fun. Carlee imediately found the dessert table, and helped herself to some cookies. The bride and groom were so cute for their first dance, and the cutting of the cake. Brittany got cake shoved entirely up her nose. It was so funny. I'm sure she didn't think so in that instant though. :D

I had a blast, and I'm so glad I was able to make it down to see my sister get married. It was worth it. I even got to see a good friend of mine, who drove in from New Mexico, which was really cool too. I wish Tony could have come down too, he and James would have gotten along perfectly. Anyway, I'm so happy for those two, and I really wish we could have had more time to spend together.

But we had to head back to central Texas, and let the two lovebirds start their lives. :) The next week was a sort of chaotic -try to visit everyone - study for and take some tests out at the college - try to buy everything I can't get over in Italy - and try to get everything crossed off of my list of things to do whirlwind. Needless to say, I ran out of time. I didn't get to spend as much time with everyone as I wanted.... there is just never enough time.

On the 16th, we started the 2 day drive to the DC area. The drive went fairly well, where Carlee's concerned, thanks to a nifty little mini dvd player I bought. Oh, and a week or so before, Carlee was suddenly infatuated with everything Dora. So that is what we watched almost two days straight, and I only had 4 different dvds. The weather got bad only when we drove through the mountains, but we managed just fine. My grandpa grew up in Ohio, so it wasn't anything new for him.

On the 17th, we drove all the way to Norfolk from my grandparents' home. I signed up for the flight, and well.... didn't make the list. I was disapointed. There were too many people, and they only got to Category 2, and Carlee and I are category 4. Oh well. We drove all the way back home, only to do it all over again on Tuesday. I was so optimistic on the Tuesday flight, because there was hardly anyone there, and I just knew I would make the flight. Well, after waiting for hours for the late plane, a voice announced that the plane would not be stopping after all, they had decided to bypass and continue to their next destination. I was crushed after getting my hopes up so high. I need to learn to stop doing that. So, the next flight is not until the first week of March. Hopefully I will be on that one.

And that catches us up to this week. Carlee is once again sick with a cold/cough/and possibly an earache as she keeps messing with them once in a while. Had I known I wasn't going to make the last two flights of the month, I would have stayed longer in Texas to be able to spend more time with everyone. But we're making the most of being here, enjoying time with my grandparents. My grandparents got Carlee her first tricycle yesterday, which she was adorable trying to ride.

Anyway, more pictures and posts later, hopefully. Don't know if I'll have time... a sick Carlee is very attention demanding. :P
